Promoting Awareness and Compassion in Others

prayerday2.jpg

On May 5,  I participated in the National Day of Prayer for the city of Slidell at the park.  It was a blessed event and so many of the citizens were there in observance.  After the prayer service I was fortunate to meet some great people.  I got to thinking about new charity acts for World Kindness Week.

OPERATION SMILE JOINS FORCES WITH  ST TAMMANY TOYS FOR TOTS

Not just for tots . . . annual toy giveway enjoyed by volunteers as well on Saturday, December 11.  150 volunteers, most of whom were teens, gave their time to help with the St. Tammany Toys for Tots giveaway.  There were about 1700 children under the age of 13 who showed up to receive toys.

It is such a blessing to be part of a community the gives their money, time and talents to make Christmas even more special for others.

Merry Christmas!

Operation-Smile means trying to make everyone smile.  It is my goal to make others aware how to spot people who need help and have the compassion to do something about it.

As a local coordinator of The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, I'm also going to use this web site to express myself and others about kindness. I'll have a page with a list of random acts of kindness, and another page where you can contact me and share acts of kindness you have experienced.

I'll update this site frequently, so make sure to check back.
